It seems Black Friday has turned into Black four-day weekend. With retailers opening earlier and earlier to meet deep deal demands, the shopping rush seems to take the value out of Thanksgiving. In our house, we always go around the table and say what we are most thankful for before we dig into enough food to feed an army. We are especially thankful for our team, the support of our families, and a new mountain community that has welcomed us with open arms. We owe much of our gratitude to our partners: fellow small businesses,  non-profits, and entrepreneurs. In addition to stocking up on stocking stuffers and electronics, we encourage you to search your own community and find a cause that calls to you. After Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday follows.

If you are looking for charitable giving opportunities, we are lucky to work with three impactful non-profits with several ways to give back. Dog-harmony is creating lifelong adoptions by providing personalized and ongoing education, support, and training for people and dogs. You can help support their bite prevention programs by donating on their website.

Opportunity Place helps women and families who are homeless become self-sufficient. They provide a safe and secure haven, food, clothing, basic needs, case management, connecting parents and children to all possible resources in the community. They help families find long term solutions. They need your help. Just $50 provides a family with personal hygiene items such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste and a toothbrush, linens, diapers, and more. $100 provides safe and secure shelter, food, a hot shower, nutritious meals, and support for a mother and a child. $250 provides this for a whole family. a $500 donation can help ensure Opportunity Place keep its doors open. There are sponsorship and naming opportunities at $1,000 and $2,000. Visit their site to find out more.

The Andrew Weathers Memorial Foundation is very dear to our hearts. Andy gave his life for his country, his teammates, your freedoms. He was buried on October 17, 2014 in Arlington National Cemetary. To honor his memory and help support Gold Star families, Andy's family created a foundation providing trips to Arlington. You can help send families to visit the graves of their loved ones by donating on their site. You can also help by purchasing tickets to win an AR-15, a fundraiser supporting their mission.
